Working Groups

The Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement (Code) is a tool that enables organizations to enhance their existing practices and continue to ensure that solid foundations are in place for involving volunteers in their organizations.

This two part working group will take you through a process that enables your organization to develop a strategy for adopting and implementing the Code and ensuring policies and procedures are in place to support your volunteer program. Part One: The Code - values, guiding principles and organizational standards. Part Two: Policies and Procedures.

Part One of the working groups looks at the Code, how to adopt and implement the Code and provides you with a tool to assess how effectively you have implemented the organizational standards for volunteer involvement into your volunteer program.

Part Two of the working groups provides you with a thorough understanding of policies and procedures, how to write them and put in place a plan or strategy to assist you with developing or updating your policies and procedures manual. A policy template will also be provided to participants attending the working groups.
