For more than a decade now, Volunteer Calgary and CTV have teamed
up to share the stories of the city's amazing volunteers and continue to proudly present...the VIP!

Who or what is the VIP?
Each month, Volunteer Calgary selects 2 exceptional volunteer(s) to be profiled and featured thru the CTV and Volunteer Calgary Website.
Each Volunteer in Profile or "VIP" will be interviewed by CTV's Vicki Chase host of the Community Calendar, each volunteer profile will be featured on the CTV website and on the Volunteer Calagary Website.
Why nominate someone for VIP?
It is a great opportunity to let Calgarians know about a volunteer's remarkable feats of volunteerism.
VIP is a great opportunity for organizations to thank their dedicated volunteers for their dedication and demonstrate how valued and appreciated they are for their volunteerism.
VIP is also a great way to promote a non-profit organization or create awareness for its cause.
Who can nominate a VIP?
Individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, family, friends, or co-workers can send in a nomination.
If you know a volunteer that deserves to be recognized, then go ahead and nominate them.
How is a VIP nominated?
Be sure to comply strictly with the requirements to ensure your nomination will qualify.

2. Ensure that the volunteer is eligible based on the following criteria and check that the appropriate supporting documentation is supplied:

2. Ensure that the volunteer is eligible based on the following criteria and check that the appropriate supporting documentation is supplied:
- Nominee must currently volunteer with a registered charity or a non-profit organization in Calgary.
- Nominee must have demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to helping an organization further its mission or cause. (Please give specific examples)
- Nominee must have made a positive and significant impact on the non-profit organization, its clientele, or the community. (Please give specific examples)
- Letter of recommendation or testimonial from a staff member of the non-profit organization benefitted by the volunteer's efforts should be submitted.
When can a nomination be submitted?
You may nominate someone any time within the year as nominations are reviewed for consideration throughout the year.

- An e-magazine profile featured on the CTV Calgary Website
- A featured spot on the Volunteer Calgary Website
- Promotion for the non-profit organization and the VIP
- Automatic nomination for the annual Volunteer in Profile (VIP) Award
What happens if a nominee is selected?
The nominator and/or nominee will be contacted and notified by Volunteer Calgary. A schedule will be arranged for time and date of a photo shoot and interview. Details and logistics will be coordinated by Volunteer Calgary.
The e-magazine profile will be available on the Volunteer Calgary and CTV website for the duration of one month.

What is the VIP Award?
The Volunteer in Profile Award is one of the award categories for volunteer Calgary's Annual Leadership Awards.
The VIPs featured throughout the year will automatically qualify as nominees for the final Volunteer in Profile Award for the upcoming year. One outstanding VIP will be chosen by the Selection Committee and will be the recipient of the Volunteer In Profile Award in April during National Volunteer Week.
If selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer in Profile Award, the winning nominee will be notified in advance and the winning VIP Award recipient will receive:
The VIPs featured throughout the year will automatically qualify as nominees for the final Volunteer in Profile Award for the upcoming year. One outstanding VIP will be chosen by the Selection Committee and will be the recipient of the Volunteer In Profile Award in April during National Volunteer Week.
If selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer in Profile Award, the winning nominee will be notified in advance and the winning VIP Award recipient will receive:
- Free production of a Public Service Announcement for the organization chosen by the winner of the VIP award and $12,500 in airtime.
- Two tickets to the Leadership Awards gala (with a value of $75.00 each).
- Invitation to the VIP Cocktail Reception during the Leadership Awards.
- Hand crafted 'Volunteer in Profile' Award Piece
