For Teachers
Children learn best by doing. Engaging children in volunteer projects can increase their awareness of the world, give them a sense of accomplishment and provide them the opportunity to experience the joy of helping others.
An EASY and SIMPLE way to introduce elementary-age students to volunteerism is to connect with the H!Pkids Program. This fun program runs from October to May - each month students help a different local not-for-profit agency meet their goals by working on an interesting project. And best of all, someone else will pick up all your finished projects and deliver them to the selected agency.
Recently, Meals on Wheels were gifted 400 wrapped placemats for their clients. Similarly, over 2000 winter items were collected for the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
