Volunteer Calgary’s Employee Volunteer Program

Known by a range of terms including corporate volunteering, employee community involvement, employer supported volunteering, and workplace volunteering, the constant which underpins all forms of employee volunteering is that employees perform work in the community with some form of support and/or encouragement from their employer to do so.

Employee volunteering is about businesses supporting and encouraging staff involvement in the community for mutual benefit.

Employee volunteer programs is usually a component of an overall Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. CSR programs are also known by a wide range of terms including Corporate Citizenship, Social Performance, Sustainable Responsible Business, among others.

There are many benefits to engaging in employee volunteerism for all parties involved – non-profit organizations, companies, employees and the community at large.
